I. What do we do with your personal data?

1. Personal data

Personal data means information about factual or personal circumstances of a specific or definable person. This includes for example your name, your telephone number and your email address. We collect and process your data for contact inquiries at "Contact us" to answer your questions.

2. Data storage

When you have given us your consent, we use this data as well as data from details of interest, website visits and information requests according to your details or via cookies for our market research and suitable advertising information tailored to you (e.g. overlay of offers when visiting our website, advertisement by mail – no calls, faxes or emails without your separate consent – no data transfer).

3. Advertising

If you have registered separately for our newsletter, your email address and, if applicable, other personal data you provided when registering (e.g. name for personal address) will be used for our own advertising purposes and for any advertising partners' offers that may be included in the newsletter.

Advertising partners do not receive your data from us, unless you provide them yourself. There is no disclosure to third parties for advertising purposes.

4. Cancellation and right of objection

Of course, when a newsletter or other type of advertising is sent out, you can object to any further use of your data for advertising purposes – including where this is permitted by law without your consent – or you can withdraw consent given by an informal notice to us, in particular you can stop further newsletter deliveries. We do not charge any additional costs for this purpose. (In particular, when you notify us by email, you will incur no additional costs other than the transmission costs according to the basic rates of your provider.) Simply send your objection or cancellation using one of the contact options at the end of this notification.

Of course, there is also an unsubscribe link in every newsletter or in other advertising emails.

II. Is data collected when you visit our website?

1. Cookies

We use so-called cookies on our website. Cookies are small files which are stored on your data carrier and save the specific settings and data to be exchanged with our system via your browser. This saved data enables us to design the website for you accordingly and facilitates use, for example, by saving specific information provided by you so that you do not constantly have to repeat it. After the end of a browser session, the cookies are automatically deleted from your hard drive (hence also session cookies). However, there are also cookies that remain on your hard drive. The expiration date is set for your convenience far into the future. When you next visit the website, it automatically recognises that you have already been on our website and which entries and settings you prefer (so-called long-term cookies).

Your protection options

Regardless of the set duration period, you can also delete your browser cookies manually. Most of the browsers accept cookies by default. Under security settings, you can permit or forbid independently from one another any temporary and stored cookies. Apart from the browser setting which generally disables the automatic placement of cookies, you are also able to disable cookies by adjusting your browser so that cookies from a specific domain (e.g. "googleadservices.com") are blocked. This setting then prevents the performance of corresponding services set by cookies from this domain.

Some web services work with opt-out cookies. Through the set cookie, a web analysis service, for example, recognises that you do not want any collection of data. If you delete all cookies, please remember that the corresponding settings will have to be made again where applicable.
Accepting cookies is not a prerequisite for visiting our web pages. If you do not accept or if you disable cookies, there are specific options (e.g. services and information) on our web pages that will not be available and perhaps some web pages will not be correctly displayed.

You can find additional information about the use of cookies on the web pages of Bundesverband Digitale Wirtschaft (BVDW) e.V.

http://www.meine-cookies.org

Please also note our references for the use of cookies in the individual services, as included and explained under "Web analysis and advertising".

2. Web analysis and advertising

You can visit our website without providing any personal information. If you visit our website, including for example via a link in a newsletter or an advertisement, specific data will nevertheless be collected and saved. If your visit is effected via newsletter links or advertisement links on the internet, we only save access information with no personal references such as:

  • the website from which you are visiting us
  • your browser type
  • the name of your internet service provider
  • the name of the file requested
  • products and contents that interest the visitor

and, for this purpose, we use the data stored using the cookies explained above. This data is analysed in order to improve our range of offers and does not allow us to deduce any information about your person. Only if you have given your explicit consent, will we store such data about you and use the data only to meet your interests as much as possible with customised offers and information.
The analysis of the data without your consent takes place only in an anonymous or pseudonymous form (e.g. information xy was called up by 45% of visitors to the website). In this way, we are able to match the information we offer to the interests of our readers.
Log data with complete personal IP addresses, which are saved by us for reasons of the technical security of the IT systems used, in particular in order to avoid attempts to attack our web servers, are deleted after 7 days at the latest. If we include third-party content on our sites (e.g. embedded films or other information), these third parties will only receive your IP address for this purpose, as the content cannot otherwise be delivered to your browser.

Web analysis tools (Universal Analytics)

This website uses Google Universal Analytics for web analysis. This is a service of Google Inc. ("Google"). Universal Analytics uses techniques granting access to information that is already or will be stored on your device, including cookies (identification technologies). The information about your use of this website (including your IP address), obtained through the identification technologies used, is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google follows the data protection guidelines of the "US Safe Harbor Agreement" and is registered with the "Safe Harbor Program" of the US Department of Commerce. Google will use this information in order to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports about the web activities for us and to render other services to us related to the use of the website and the internet. If necessary, Google will also transmit this information to third parties, provided that this is legally required or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google. Google will not link your IP address with other Google data.

You can prevent the installation of cookies through a relevant setting in your browser software. However, we would like to point out that, in this case, you may not be able to make use of all the functions of this website to the fullest extent. You cannot avoid data collection as a whole, however, by disabling or deleting cookies. Even if you delete cookies, it may be possible that you will be recognised again by other technical measures during a new visit to our website.

Your protection options

If you do not wish that information about your visits to our web site is collected via Universal Analytics, you have the possibility of installing a browser-specific "Deactivation Add-On" on your computer. You can download this add-on here. Please note, however, that this add-on presently is only available for Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari and Opera.

As an alternative or in browsers on mobile devices, you can click on the link below to object to the application of Google Universal Analytics. Through the activation of the link, an opt-out cookie will be set in order to prevent the gathering of data by Google Universal Analytics on this website in the future. Please note that this opt-out cookie only works on this browser and only for this domain. As soon as you delete your cookies on this browser, you have to click on the link again: Disable Google Universal Analytics.

In addition, we have made settings ensuring that Universal Analytics deletes the last part of the IP addresses of visitors to our website. In this way, we cannot acquire any data that allows deducing information about you via Universal Analytics.

Without your explicit consent, we will not use tracking tools to collect, unnoticed, personal data about you, transfer such data to third-party providers and marketing platforms or link the data with your personal information (e.g. name, address, etc.).

3. Right of objection to user profiles

According to Section 15 para. 3, Section 13 para. 1 of the German Telemedia Act (TMG), you have a right of objection against the creation of user profiles using pseudonyms. If you have any questions about the described protection possibilities and our protective measures, please contact us under the options below.

III. How do we protect your personal data?

When contacting us, your personal data is transferred safely by encryption. We operate with the SSL coding system (Secure Socket Layer). We secure our website and other systems by technical and organisational measures against loss, destruction, access, modification and distribution of your data by unauthorised people.

IV. What rights do I have?

You have a right of objection against the use of data for advertising purposes and against the creation of user profiles in the event pseudonyms are used.

According to the Federal Data Protection Act, you have, among others, a right to free information about your data stored by us and, where applicable, a right to correction, blockage or deletion of data. For questions about the collection, processing or use of personal data, for information, correction, blockage or deletion of data, please contact us using the contact details provided at the end of this text.

V. What consents have I given?

You have also given us your consent to contact you for advertising purposes or for certain uses of your data (such as for the newsletter). If you have given us your consent, we save your consent texts and can retrieve them. For retrieval, simply contact info@ifhkoeln.de. We will then send you the desired information by email.
